CSS to Feature Sandbox Version of VerdeTTo IoT Directory Services, and CMS Topaz for Cloud Apps
CMS VerdeTTo Sandbox
CSS will be releasing a Sandbox version of CMS VerdeTTo, enabling organizations to run a dedicated, fully managed, PKI-based IoT Directory.
The Internet of Things (IoT) has brought significant security challenges to architects and developers. The foundation of security lies in the establishment of a Root of Trust and unique trusted identity for each device, used to enforce authentication into IoT systems, encryption of data, and execution of secure code. Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is widely recognized as a leading method to establish that unique identity for millions of devices. But how can you be sure? How can you test your applications and devices in order to see all possibilities and results?
The CMS VerdeTTo Sandbox is a fully functional IoT Directory with your own operational PKI, your own Root of Trust, your own certificates, and APIs for integration with devices, platforms and applications. The CMS VerdeTTo Sandbox is cloud-hosted and delivered as a service for use in your project design, development, and architecture phases.
“We emphasize to our IoT customers the imperative of ensuring trusted identity is established early within IoT design and development stages. Having the expertise, resources, and infrastructure to do so can be challenging though,” stated Judah Aspler, CSS Vice President of Business Development. “Businesses tackling the critical challenges of IoT security and looking to validate their identity foundation can now keep focus on core objectives without being distracted or limited by identity management infrastructure.”
CMS Topaz for Cloud Apps and Application Developers
We are also featuring the release of CMS Topaz, a PKI-based solution that provides application developers and providers with a fast, reliable solution for integrating digital certificates and delivering secure applications.
We recognize that application developers work in fast-paced environments with time to market pressure, and that application providers typically do not have the resources for PKI operations and certificate management. CMS Topaz is a cost-effective, fully managed solution for issuing digital certificates and embedding them into your application. CMS Topaz supports a variety of certificate enrollment mechanisms and protocols, from modern RESTful web APIs to legacy protocols such as SCEP. With cloud scalability and pay-as-you-grow licensing, CMS Topaz provides the security you need, from a project’s launch through its future peak usage.
“Application providers are looking to achieve very precise security objectives for the projects and data that are at the heart of their business. CMS Topaz offloads the rigorous backend infrastructure and management requirements, so they can leverage certificates to successfully release their applications securely, with authentication, encryption, and data protection enabled,” added Aspler.
