About the position  

The Technical Writer position is responsible for producing high-quality documentation appropriate for both an internal and external audience. This includes working with various internal teams on product documentation requirements and documenting use cases for customers.

The position is based in our Barcelona office and applicants must hold a valid Right to Work in Spain.  

Responsibilities  

  • Together with the Engineering, Support and Customer Success teams, you will collaboratively own and manage the Keyfactor product documentation and documentation process.
  • Plan and write product documentation to communicate relevant information appropriate to the audience, for example, how-to guides for system operations or installation instructions.
  • Understand, implement, and document use cases relevant to the platform that will help customers realize its full potential.
  • Drive continuous improvements of our product documentation and create clear and consistent content that communicates complex technical concepts concisely.
  • Gather and analyze technical information from various sources and stakeholders to document new or improved product functionality.
  • Maintain the product documentation and help ensure that content is published following the product release process.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and client deliverables.
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
  • Conduct technical reviews of documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
  • Identify and address technical inconsistencies in documentation, refining content for improved clarity, usability, and consistency.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and reports to facilitate product/project communication, training, and issue resolution.
  • Incorporate security principles and best practices into documentation processes to align with software development security requirements.
  • Contribute to initiatives to enhance documentation processes, standards, and methodologies, aiming for greater efficiency and effectiveness over time.

Skills and Qualifications  

Required Experience 

  • Demonstrable professional experience in developing software applications as a team-member.  
  • Strong problem solving skills with a willingness to learn new technologies 
  • .NET Experience:  Strong knowledge in both .Net Framework and .Net Core.  
  • Experience with creating and maintaining containers for production software applications 
  • Experience working with and implementing REST APIs 
  • Experience working as part of an Agile team 
  • Version Control: Experience in version control using Git.  
  • Fluency in English 

Preferred Experience 

  • Familiarity with Linux and MacOS based development 
  • Experience working with build pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Artifactory 
  • Understanding of best practices creating Docker files 
  • Experience with PKI is a plus. 
  • You hold a degree in Computer Science, SW Engineering, a related field, or have relevant equivalent experience. 

Compensation  

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
