Rex Wheeler is a senior lead and software engineer at Certified Security Solutions, Inc. (CSS). In this role, Rex leads the Identity & Access Management and Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) practice areas of the company.

Rex has over 20 years of software development and computing infrastructure experience, including 15 years in consulting and 5 years in industrial manufacturing environments.

Rex has the rare combination of understanding the whole computing picture from low-level hardware to high-level application design and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Rex has designed and architected several complex systems, including an application-level network monitoring system, a dynamically branded group insurance quoting system, and the first online golf tee time reservation system on the Internet.

Rex’s diverse background makes him one of the CSS “go to” guys for solving difficult technical issues and dealing with pressing client technical issues that are outside of standard CSS service offerings. “Give it to Rex, he will figure it out” is a common quote heard around the office.

Personal Highlights – Rex lives in Portland, Oregon and has volunteered at the Oregon Zoo for two decades. Rex is an amateur photographer and has been on safari in Southern Africa four times. Rex is a big roller coaster fan and is a Northwest regional representative for the American Coaster Enthusiasts organization.
