New Product Provides Crypto-Agility Support
Purpose-built, cloud-based Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) platform addresses growing enterprise business continuity risk

CLEVELAND, Ohio, April 15, 2019 – Keyfactor, a leading provider of secure digital identity management solutions, today announced enhanced support for cryptographic agility with the launch of Keyfactor Command 6.

The newest release of the company’s flagship, cloud-based certificate management platform simplifies and centralizes key management operations. Keyfactor Command addresses multiple data protection use cases while future-proofing digital identity and access management.

“The rise in cryptographic-based attacks targeting enterprises today must be addressed at a root level when it comes to encryption key management,” says Ted Shorter, CTO and Co-Founder of Keyfactor. “There has been a considerable increase in attacks that exploit third-party software via digital signatures, such as the recent ASUS incident in which hackers pushed malware through the company’s software updater. This platform ensures that enterprises continue to mitigate security risk and exploits through a purpose-built, fully scalable PKI.”

According to Gartner Inc., a research and advisory firm, “a combination of data residency and compliance issues, internal security audits, and growing threats of hacking is driving the requirements for enterprises to develop a data security governance strategy to prioritize sensitive data protection. Furthermore, upcoming regulations have dramatically increased pressure on SRM leaders to review and revamp their encryption key management (EKM) strategy¹.”

Keyfactor Command is designed to provide end-to-end visibility and management of public key infrastructure operations – this includes policy enforcement and PKI certificate inventory, enrollment, renewal, and revocation. The platform caters to both current and future identity and access management demands, including quantum computing and post-quantum cryptography.

Key features include:

  • Secure Code Signing – Enables the secure, auditable use of code signing certificates and cryptographic keys for globally-distributed software teams. The keys remain secure in hardware-protected storage at all times.
  • Centralized PKI Management – Enables the ability to discover, monitor, issue and replace millions of certificates and keys in real-time.
  • SSL/TLS Scanning at Scale – Empowers enterprises to scan complex network landscapes, including those with IP ranges larger than the entire public internet.
  • Private Key Management – Provides private key storage and encryption.

“Prevention is key when it comes to managing security and risk,” said Kevin von Keyserling, CEO and Co-Founder of Keyfactor. “Crypto-agility allows large enterprises to operate in an adaptive state, enabling continuous risk mitigation that helps to manage emerging and omni-present vulnerabilities.”
