Tired of juggling different tools for every signing job? You’re not alone – and the latest releases of SignServer 7.4 and Signum 4.6 are here to change that.
Keyfactor’s signing solutions, SignServer and Signum, make signing easier, more secure, and auditable. These releases add more artifacts and platforms to the signing pool, while also introducing new security features.
In this update, we’re making it easier than ever to sign code and artifacts across platforms, boost your security posture, and streamline the entire signing process.
What’s New
This release introduces:
- Secure signing for macOS and iOS binaries
- Expanded artifact signing
- Expanded PQC support
- OAuth integration
With the launch of SignServer 7.4 and Signum 4.6, developers have an even broader library of integrations to add to their centralized signing capabilities. This cuts through the headaches from managing different signing tools and processes, trying to keep up with audits, and protecting keys.
Mac Agents for Signum and SignServer
What is it?
We’ve added a new Mac agent for both Signum and SignServer. This allows developers to now sign Apple binaries and implement signing on Macs with the same platform they already use for Windows and Linux.
Why it matters:
Rarely do developers work on a single platform. Now, developers can sign code on Windows, Linux, AND Mac. This eliminates the need for a unique signing solution for each platform, simplifying and standardizing the management of signing across all dev teams. Furthermore, customers can now use the same HSM-backed keys across all their platforms, no matter what OS they are running on, by using either Signum or SignServer as the signing engine for all signings.
Key benefits:
- Cohesive signing policies across all major platforms
- Auditable signing practices for Mac
- Reduced infrastructure overhead for different solutions
Expanded artifact signing
What is it?
We’ve added the ability to sign RPM packages, continuing to build on the expanding library of artifacts that can be signed, including AI containers.
Why it matters:
Expanding the artifact library allows developers to continue to consolidate their signing solutions, eliminating other solutions that are used for a single artifact type.
Expanded PQC support
What is it?
We support 17 HSMs, including PQC-ready HSMs:
- Thales
- Utimaco
Why it matters:
With even more supported PQC-ready HSMs, developers have the flexibility to utilize the infrastructure they want, not being forced into new hardware.
OAuth integration
What is it?
Just like we have in Keyfactor Command and Signum, SignServer now supports OAuth, with Auth0 for AdminWeb.
Why it matters:
OAuth eliminates the need for a dedicated certificate to access the AdminWeb of SignServer. By using OAuth, users can now seamlessly connect to SignServer using a connected Identity Provider.
Key benefits:
- Enhanced security
- Integrate with existing Auth0 identity providers
- Simplified and streamlined setup
