Tl;dr
The latest release of Keyfactor Command 25.4 continues our commitment to giving teams more power when managing certificates. With refreshed navigation on top of new features—like the ability to edit EJBCA certificate profiles inside Command, better risk visibility, and more enhancements for the Command dashboard—this release moves the needle on what next-gen CLM looks like.
Here’s a deeper dive into what’s new in Keyfactor Command 25.4.
EJBCA Integration: Create and Edit Profiles Directly from Command
What is it?
Our customers often combine the flexible PKI power of Keyfactor EJBCA with Keyfactor Command’s broad CLM and automation capabilities. In version 25.4, we’re introducing a deeper integration between the two – giving users the ability to create and edit EJBCA certificate templates directly within the Command UI.
This new capability eliminates the need to switch back and forth between systems when managing Certificate Profiles. Now, everything can be done in one streamlined workflow.
Watch this quick video to learn how to edit EJBCA certificate templates in the new Command 25.4 interface.
In the Certificate Templates page, users can select their EJBCA instance, configure certificate details like validity periods, key usage, and policies, and even add custom extensions with just a few clicks. Users can define validity (e.g., six months), specify key usages such as client authentication, add certificate policies, and include new post-quantum algorithms like SLH-DSA.
Why does it matter?
This deeper connection between Command and EJBCA gives administrators the ability to manage certificate profiles without switching tools, making the process faster, more secure, and easier to scale.
Value proposition(s):
- Manage and edit EJBCA profiles directly within Command
- Reuse and copy profiles across tenants for faster configuration
- Expand self-service capabilities for EJBCA users
- Simplify and streamline certificate lifecycle management workflows
Navigation 2.0: Smooth and Collapsible
What is it?
When you log into Command 25.4, you’ll notice a new left-side navigation bar, giving the platform a fresh, modern look that (we think) is also more intuitive.
Command’s new navigation will instantly feel more usable.
By moving from a top bar to left-aligned, collapsible navigation, users gain more workspace and easier access to key features. Even when collapsed, the nav bar remains functional – perfect for power users who want maximum screen real estate.
Why does it matter?
A streamlined navigation experience reduces friction, improves usability, and allows teams to move through tasks faster.
Value proposition(s):
- Cleaner, modern user interface
- Collapsible menu for improved workspace efficiency
- Simplified navigation and faster access to key areas
Risk Intelligence Gets Its Own Room
What is it?
Risk Intelligence is now fully separated and highlighted within the main Command UI with its own dedicated pane.
Walk through Command Risk Intelligence in its new tab.
Previously, risk insights lived inside the Metadata pane, requiring users to parse through fields to find what they needed. In Command 25.4, Risk Intelligence has its own tab in the Certificate Search navigation bar, giving users faster, clearer visibility into certificate risks.
Why does it matter?
This change makes it easier to assess and act on certificate risks without digging through metadata – enabling faster remediation and smarter decisions.
Value proposition(s):
- Centralized access to certificate risk insights
- Easier, faster analysis of risk data
- Clearer decision-making when managing high-value certificates
Dashboard Enhancements: Customization and Clarity
What is it?
A smaller but nevertheless in demand update, and following the introduction of customizable dashboards in the last release, Command 25.4 adds new dashboard widgets and more flexible data visualization tools.
New widgets include Certificates Issued per Week and Certificates Revoked per Week – helping teams stay on top of key operational metrics. A standout addition is the Custom Query Widget, which lets users build and run their own queries to support the widget without needing to create a new certificate collection every time.
Why does it matter?
With more usability and personalization options, Command users can better turn their dashboard into a live “command center” (pun intended) for certificate insights and trends.
Value proposition(s):
- New widgets for real-time visibility of certificate activity
- Faster insight into operational metrics
- Personalized, dynamic workspace for each user
