About the position
We’re looking for an AI Research Intern to help us explore the feasibility, architecture, and technical approach for specific initiatives.
Applicants must be permanently authorized to work in the US.
Responsibilities
Research & Discovery
- Map out existing internal products and APIs and document how they could be orchestrated from a single control plane.
- Research MCP (Model Context Protocol) and similar frameworks to provide a recommended architecture.
- Investigate Panorama-style architectures and other centralized management consoles (observability, SIEM, NMS, etc.) to identify UX and architectural patterns we can reuse.
AI / Analytics Exploration
- Identify data sources (logs, events, configurations, metrics) from our products that could be fed into AI models.
- Propose use cases for AI-driven insights.
- Evaluate options for analytics and LLM integration (e.g., summarization, anomaly detection, recommendation systems).
Architecture & Design Support
- Draft high-level architecture options for MCP or similar AI protocols within the architecture.
- Contribute to early UX/flow ideas as it relates to MCP or similar AI functionality.
Prototyping & Documentation
- Build small proof-of-concept demos where appropriate.
- Document your findings in Confluence.
Skills and Qualification
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Java).
- Basic understanding of Agentic AI, and its use within enterprise software products.
- Strong ability to research, synthesize, and clearly document complex topics.
- Comfortable reading technical docs and experimenting with tools from the command line.
Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
