Collaboration will accelerate global reach of best-in-class PKI solutions and expertise that is essential for establishing digital trust in post-quantum era
September 10, 2024 — Toyota Tsusho Corporation (“Toyota Tsusho”) and Toyota Tsusho Systems Corporation (“Toyota Tsusho Systems”) today announced a strategic partnership with Keyfactor, the identity-first security solution for modern enterprises, to accelerate the implementation of cryptography throughout Japan and ultimately help establish a more secure digital society.
A recent global report conducted by Vanson Bourne on behalf of Keyfactor reveals that 93% of all organizations experience challenges with setting an effective public key infrastructure (PKI) and certificate management strategy. With quantum computers threatening to break many of the current cryptographic algorithms used to secure digital communications, PKI management will play a crucial role in establishing trust in digital communications and transactions.
The new partnership combines the global network and operational expertise of Toyota Tsusho and Toyota Tsusho Systems with Keyfactor’s full suite of market-leading PKI and certificate management solutions to help organizations develop a robust and resilient PKI infrastructure that upholds the security and authenticity of digital interactions. The collaboration will benefit organizations within industries where cybersecurity measures for connected devices are essential, including those operating in automotive, manufacturing, agriculture, construction, and healthcare, helping them to implement quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms and protocols as the threat landscape evolves.
“I’m very honored that our collaboration with Keyfactor has come to fruition. As we begin our partnership, I’m looking forward to the opportunity to enhance the value both Toyota Tsusho and Keyfactor provide and ultimately contribute to the realization of a better digital society for organizations throughout Japan,” said Eiji Matsuzaki, Digital Solution Division CEO, Toyota Tsusho.
“We’re committed to making the world more secure by combining Keyfactor’s technology with our global network and IT engineering capabilities,” added Hirotoshi Watanabe, CEO, Toyota Tsusho Systems.
Toyota Tsusho and Toyota Tsusho Systems have provided PKI services for the automotive industry since 2019. The partnership allows the companies to expand these services by combining existing capabilities with Keyfactor’s comprehensive solution stack that provides highly secure, scalable, and automated PKI, digital signing, and certificate discovery offerings. Trusted by more than 1,500 enterprises globally and 40% of Fortune 100 companies, Keyfactor solutions also reduce the manual effort, expense, and risk associated with deploying and maintaining PKI infrastructure.
“Incorporating cryptographic techniques and protocols into all systems is essential to mitigate the risk that can exist within digital transactions, maintain trust among customers, and, in some industries, guarantee regulatory compliance,” said Joe Tong, SVP Global Channel, APAC, Keyfactor. “However, implementing post-quantum cryptography can be overwhelming for many organizations. We’re extremely honored to partner with Toyota Tsusho and Toyota Tsusho Systems to help organizations across Japan ensure the long-term security, compliance, interoperability, and resilience of cryptographic systems and the data they protect through our joint capabilities and extensive partner ecosystem.”
The joint offering will be available through the companies’ extensive partner networks. For more information about Keyfactor’s capabilities, please visit: https://www.keyfactor.com/.
