Reflecting on Keyfactor Tech Days 2025: A Milestone in Digital Trust Innovation

Industry Trends

Last week’s Keyfactor Tech Days 2025 was nothing short of extraordinary!

From the moment I took the stage, the energy in the room was undeniable. We gathered with some of the brightest minds in digital trust, representing over 20 countries. Many attendees told me it was the best tech conference they’ve ever experienced – an incredibly humbling compliment and a testament to the power of the few days we spent together.

One of the best parts of Keyfactor Tech Days? We didn’t just talk about the future of digital trust – we’re actually the leaders building it.

If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry – we will be releasing on-demand recordings soon. For now, check out some of the highlights in this recap reel. Watch and see why so many are saying, “I should have been there!”

The Conversations Driving Digital Trust Forward

As I shared in my opening remarks, digital trust has never been more critical. With interconnected ecosystems and the rapid rise of quantum computing, we are entering a new era. Our expert speakers reinforced that innovation and collaboration are essential to navigating this shifting landscape. And as enterprises scale, we examined why certificate management isn’t just about issuance – it’s about security, governance, and compliance to mitigate costly vulnerabilities.

The Future of Certificate Security
At the event, we introduced Keyfactor Command Risk Intelligence, the world’s first certificate risk management solution, designed to give organizations real-time visibility and control over their digital trust footprint. We also released our latest report, Breaking Digital Trust, which reveals that 18% of certificates have at least one risk factor – a staggering statistic with serious security implications. During our workshops, we explored these risks in depth, reinforcing why proactive solutions are more critical than ever.

AI & IOT Security
We explored the intersection of AI and digital trust, challenging assumptions and offering actionable insights. Kay Firth-Butterfield, CEO of Good Tech Advisory, discussed the challenges of AI governance, noting that AI adoption remains limited and public trust is declining. She stressed that without trust, AI’s growth could slow, highlighting the need for responsible development.

Following her keynote, several experts shared insights on digital trust. Truepic’s Jason Slack showed how PKI prevents AI-generated image fraud while Infineon’s Steve Hanna covered the rise of IoT security certifications. Keyfactor’s own security experts, Eric Mizell and Ellen Boehm, also discussed securing software supply chains and IoT/industrial supply chains.

Quantum Readiness
It’s important to note that “Q Day” isn’t about a single moment – it’s about being prepared now. The shift to quantum-safe cryptography requires foresight, planning, and action today to ensure security in the years ahead. To bring these discussions to life, we hosted everything from interactive panels to hands-on workshops, helping teams map out where cryptography is used, assess risk, and build agility. One of the most memorable moments came from Kevin Ha, VP of Technical Engineering at M&T Bank, with his take on quantum migration: You don’t have to be the fastest – just don’t be the slowest. Like campers outrunning a bear, staying ahead of the pack is what matters.

I was also thrilled to hear from attendees who, through hands-on testing of PQC algorithms at Keyfactor Tech Days, discovered real solutions to make crypto-agility a reality – before it’s too late.

To everyone who joined us, thank you again! I can’t wait to keep the momentum going. The knowledge, insights, and conversations we shared were invaluable.
